If you are interested in deepening your connection with the people of Africa, set aside some time, beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, for an information session about the 2011 partnership delegation visit to Kitui, Kenya. The gathering will take place at the Hayden Building, 328 W. Kellogg Ave. in St. Paul.

The delegation visit, set for June 28 to July 12, 2011 is a part of the on-going solidarity partnership that began in 2004 between the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and the Diocese of Kitui. Bishop Lee Piché is scheduled to accompany the group on the trip.
Applications for participation in the delegation visit must be submitted by Friday, Oct. 1.

St. Kate at the fair Aug. 26
St. Catherine University will give children at the Minnesota State Fair
on Aug. 26 an opportunity to experience its National Center for STEM
Elementary Education.
Interactive science, technology, engineering and mathematics exhibits
will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Carousel Park, just outside the
Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. St. Kate’s STEM instructor Sherri
Kreuser will lead activities to engage children in each of the
disciplines.
Catch green fever
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet will host the Great Green
Gathering from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Carondelet
Center, 1890 Randolph Ave. in St. Paul. The event will focus on
environmental awareness and education, with interactive activities,
exhibits and speakers. It is sponsored by Earth Partners, which is part
of the Justice Commission of the sisters and their consociates, along
with many other groups.
